Native Grass Landscaper (Seasonal)

Southall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way. The Native Grass Landscaper is vital in our mission of land stewardship and caring for the landscaping components of the Farm and Resort.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with management, you will develop an understanding of native grasses and wildflowers.
  • Work to cultivate and maintain 30 new acres of Native Grass and Wildflowers
  • Learn proper operation of landscaping equipment such as mowers, tractors etc.
  • Learn and develop organic processes for the management of landscaping.
  • Gain exposure to the biodynamic approach to farming and land care.
  • Follow Proper landscaping equipment preventive maintenance on a daily, weekly and annual basis.
  • Work within the seasonal landscape plan as directed by management.
  • Assist in other areas such as turf and trail maintenance as well as general upkeep of the property as needed.
  • Follow and enforce safety and sanitation processes for accident prevention.

The Staff Accountant will assist the Director of Finance in the oversight and coordination of the Finance function of the resort to ensure accurate, timely and consistent reporting in accordance with policies and procedures, Federal, State and local laws and regulations. This position is responsible for the daily operation of Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Income Journal, General Cashiering, Taxes and internal controls.

Farm Cultivation Team Member

Southall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way. The position of Farm Cultivation Team Member at Southall Farms will be both rewarding and challenging. The cultivation team is the engine of the train and will complete an array of farm tasks from seeding, maintaining, and harvesting vegetables in our 1.5+/-acre market garden style farm. Team members will seed and assist in the greenhouse, shape / amend beds in the garden and high tunnel, facilitate the growth of plants by weeding, trellising and harvesting, and clean and properly store the produce in the wash station.

In a rotation, members of the cultivation team will also be asked to complete livestock chores which consists of an 80-bird laying flock.
